Netcon Systems, formally known as G & I Computers was founded in October 1998 as an Information Technology Related Company.  Since its inception, the company has widened its expertise in the electrical engineering field and software and hardware maintenance.

The name of the company has changed from G & I Computers to Netcon Systems on 22 April 2015.

Netcon Systems has built a business relationship with Netcontrol Oy since June 2013 to provide products and services in the Southern Africa region.  Netcon Systems signed an agreement on 1st August 2015 with Netcontrol Oy to become the official distributor of Netcontrol products in Southern Africa.  Netcontrol is an international company and specializes in the Automation and Integration of Protections, Measuring and Remote Terminal Units within the Electrical Engineering Field.  The Netcontrol relationship will provide Netcon Systems with a large variety of SCADA/RTU equipment to enable them to install comprehensive automation systems.  The main odjective of Netcon Systems is to offer our customers within Southern Africa excellent products and services.

In September 1999 Siemens(Pty) Ltd employed G & I Computers to take the technical leading responsibilities for the implementaion of the Siemens Empower 3.2.5 System at the City Council of Pretoria - this contract was active until the finalization of the above system.  Siemens (Pty) Ltd further employed G & I Computers to project manage and technically lead the upgrade of City Power’s Siemens Empower Spectrum System until completion.  G & I Computers assisted Siemens (Pty) Ltd and Siemens Energy Automation Gmbh & KG Co until 2007 with various energy related projects.
